Don't Use Executive Speeches for employee engagement activities

...or you will have employees that look as angry as the lady in the picture above, and you don't want that. Why shouldn't you use these speeches as an employee engagement activity? Well, your employees probably already know what their boss thinks. They have to live and breathe the company doctrine every day. Why not mix it up a little bit and invite someone from outside your company to give a talk on a topic that your employees find interesting? Just ask your employees what interests them and then go out and look for someone who speaks on similar topics. You could even have the speech outside (for reasons that we discussed in Wednesday's blog post).
