Physical activity has been proven to have an invaluable impact on both your physical and emotional health!
Adults should get at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity 5 days a week. For some, this is a no brainer…but for others it may seem like a death sentence. Don’t let those numbers scare you away—you are more capable than you think!
So, how exactly do you move your way to health and happiness?
For starters, abide by the physical activity recommendations. Make it a priority each day to get up and get active! This may mean walking with your spouse or a friend or going on a bike ride with your child. It may mean getting up at 5am before the rest of the house and fitting in a treadmill workout or making time over lunch to go for a stroll…whatever works for you—do it!
Once you establish a physical activity routine you will start to feel the benefits. You’ll begin to notice you have more energy, sleep better at night and don’t get winded as easily. On the emotional side you will notice a boost of confidence and feel better about yourself, increasing your overall level of happiness!
Don’t let life pass you by without living up to your potential! Regular physical activity gives us freedom in life—the freedom to experience our surroundings, enjoy ourselves and others and feel strong and capable about tackling the hardships that may lay ahead. Make a vow to start the New Year on the right foot and get moving!
